Hey guys!! Sorry to keep disappearing on and off the last few months, this has...not been an ideal time for me!

NGL I really despise making these hokey medical journal things, because like...literally no one enjoys seeing them, and I try to keep a pretty cheery persona but..! I got a couple concerned notes from people and kinda felt bad about keeping people out of the loop :,))

So! Long story short, I"m not quitting art or anything, and I'm going to try to get more active again! The last few months have been super hard and stressful on me, what with my job going to hell and the corona situation...and I ended up being diagnosed with depression and an anxiety disorder, yeehaw!!

However, even with meds, nothing was improving, and I ended up having to go to a therapist for suicidal fixations, and that's real fun, and between that and the constant exhaustion, I literally have not had the energy to do much other than wake up, lay in bed, cry, and text my girlfriend, let alone actually turn on my computer or draw anything.

HOWEVER: as it turns out..!!! The exhaustion and depression weren't actually mental! I have been going to the doctor moderately routinely for medication and the like, and after a full blood panel that came out kinda screwy (fucked up white blood cell count or something) it turns out I have a critically low vitamin d deficiency! We had been previously suspecting thyroid issues before this, so thank fuck it was just that tbh.

So all the exhaustion and inability to keep awake have literally been because I have zero vitamin d, haha, I was the lowest they could test for, so I'm on a massive dose Vitamin D for now, and we're going to have to see if my body maybe just isn't processing vitamin d or what. In any case, with any luck I should be back up to snuff in a few months if all goes well!!

....So! Long story short, holy shit you guys, if you start getting a major depressive episode and start getting exhausted for no reason, get that vitamin d checked--they normally don't check for it unless you specifically ask, but it can cause a ridiculous host of other problems, so get that bitch sorted!

Ayoo!! So as I posted about briefly on that last design I did, I'm intending to do what I'll be calling the "Squid Summer Event"! Basically, as...well, I'm sure everyone who follows me knows by now, I have a passion bordering on obsession when it comes to Illithids, Eldritch Horrors, Cthuloids, or pretty much anything wiggly and unknowable! So to celebrate that passion, I decided to really ramp up on making tons of squid art and designs from June to August as a fun little challenge!

So as part of the challenge, I would like to make a list of 'prompts' or themes to make designs off of or draw scenes for :v !! So if anyone would like to suggest something they'd like to see, just drop a comment here and let's all have some fun!!

And of course, I'll post the list publicly too if anyone else wants to join in! >:33 I always wanna see everyone's illithid/squid art and ocs, so if you draw anything this summer, feel free to ping me @CannibalHarpy and I'll feature you in a journal or something and spread the good fun feels around \0/ <33333
