Tbh back when he was alive and was first figuring the whole "yeehaw necromancy sure is edgy and neat!" thing, Nicolai was ungodly cocky and seriously thought he was some hot shit.
These days, he's cooled down quite a bit, but for real, he's still a cocky prick. 
Fun fact, those glasses didn't even do anything, he wore them to look more scholarly. 
He also stopped dying the little hair tuft at his widow's peak once he realized he was going gray, rip
